Apple iTunes – Rental Movies

To my surprise, well I guess that I should not be that surprised, Apple has annouced that they now have a movie rental service. This is not a monthly revolving door service. No, iTunes will only make you pay for what you want. So, this is how the service works. You pay $2.99 for one title, except new releases they are $3.99 per title. You get 30 days to watch the movie and once you start to watch the movie you have 24 hours to finish it. That is it. If you don't watch the movie in 30 days you will not be able to watch it. It will lock up and you will be unable to open it. If you don't finish watching it within the 24 hours after opening the movie it will also lock up and you will be unable to watch it that way either.
On a positive note, you can watch these movies on any resource that can read the movie format. That means on your TV, I believe the XBOX 360 can read the movie format, your IPOD, or your computer. You can also watch the movie as many times within the 24 hour period of first viewing the movie.
Apple has a great idea with this service. I just wish it was a little like there music service in that when you buy a song you own it for life and can listen to it anytime, any place. Try the service out, it is real easy to use, just pay and download and open. It is that simple.
